Candidacies
The candidacies in this section concern internal offices and contests in Candeia. Whether party-affiliated or independent, they must enter the competition under public and stable criteria, with reasoned registration decisions, equality of opportunity and an effective appeal.

In brief
Candidacy registration is a democratic gateway, not a tool for ideological selection. The portal must make the rule understandable; the actual filing process belongs to the electoral administration.
How the Constitution structures this subject
Party-affiliated or independent
An eligible citizen may not be required to join a party or obtain a party nomination.
Limited signatures
When support signatures are required, the constitutional ceiling is 1% of eligible voters in the constituency.
No economic barrier
A fee, bond or deposit may not materially prevent an eligible person from standing for office.
Timely relief
A refusal must state its grounds and essential evidence, with a priority appeal capable of preventing the candidacy from being lost in practice.
How it works
Consult the published rules, calendar and requirements.
Submit the application and evidence through Candeia OS when the process exists; the competent electoral module of Sistema Candeia maintains the record.
The Commission applies exhaustively defined criteria and records its reasons.
The decision may be taken to the Electoral Chamber and, where constitutional, to the Constitutional Court.
Limits and safeguards
- The technical team and provider may not politically accept or reject a candidacy.
- Supporting a candidacy is not the same as voting for it and does not prevent supporting another where the law permits.
- Criteria may not be changed at the last minute to produce an ad hoc political advantage.
