In summary
The essentials
An adoption record is not a mere profile edit. It is a civil-status act with its own legal basis, a responsible authority, a traceable history and effects defined by the applicable law.
How it works
What the record must preserve
BasisA valid act and a competent authority.
→
IdentityName, family relationships and protection of the person's history in accordance with the applicable law.
→
HistoryChanges to the register remain reconstructable and are not silently erased.
For the person
Practical consequence
When an adoption procedure is active in Candeia, GOV only explains and directs. Sistema Candeia and the competent registration authority perform the act and preserve the corresponding chain of records.
Limits
Safeguards and conditions
GOV does not decree adoptions.
A change to a record does not authorise arbitrary erasure of historical identity.
Adoption may not be used to discriminate against recognised forms of family life.
