Workplace safety
Safety is expressly part of decent work. The constitutional standard is not a ready-made table of occupational rules: it requires legislation and practices to protect people from relevant risks and to adapt that protection to physical and digital forms of work.

The proposal requires protection against work-related risks, including in digital and operational activities. Inspection or response services will exist only when they are actually implemented.
Rules on prevention, incident recording and accountability will be applied by the competent structures according to the activity.
In summary
Risk should be addressed before harm occurs
Protection should not depend only on later redress when the risk is foreseeable.
Safety is not only about the physical environment
Harassment, operational workload, accessibility and technical risks may require responses suited to the nature of the work.
Reasonable accommodations
Disability must not become exclusion where reasonable adjustments allow the function to be performed safely.
Criteria must be demonstrable
Whoever decides relevant conditions must justify the measures according to risk and competence.
How it works
Map the relevant physical, technical, organisational or digital risks.
Prioritise prevention and controls appropriate to the risk.
Preserve the facts and measures needed for correction and any eventual accountability.
A competent channel must be able to correct an unsafe practice without depending on the same interested party.
Limits and what this page does not do
- This page does not create a specific occupational technical standard or a safety certification that does not exist.
- Safety does not authorise total surveillance of workers, excessive data collection or violations of privacy.
- GOV does not inspect workplaces, shut down activities or issue technical reports.
Protection must follow the real risk of the work, including when the environment is digital. “It is remote” or “it is platform work” does not make safety irrelevant.
