Institutional status
Today
Candeia does not yet have a Prime Minister, ministers or a permanent constitutional Government in office.
When it becomes operational
Once a Government has been formed through a valid investiture, it may administer Candeia within the powers, limits and controls provided for.
What the Government does
Government competence
- direct the Administration and coordinate policy implementation;
- comply with laws, the current budget and judicial decisions;
- issue regulations to implement laws, always on a legal basis and within identifiable limits;
- coordinate ministers and public services within valid competences;
- record, give reasons for and publish decisions to the extent legally appropriate.
What it may not absorb
- a judicial or prosecutorial decision in an individual case;
- a specific decision of the Central Bank or independent supervisors;
- the work of the National Electoral Commission, Court of Audit or Data Protection and Digital Rights Authority;
- protected technical competences of the national architecture;
- powers reserved to the Assembly or the Presidency.
From public policy to a verifiable act
