The Assembly has not yet been established.
Committees will study proposals, hear people and oversee specific areas of Candeia.
Plural representation
Minorities and the opposition have a right to proportional and effective access to committees, rapporteurships, information, debate time and oversight instruments. At least one relevant permanent oversight body must have its chair or principal rapporteurship held by the opposition when an opposition exists, under an objective rule published in advance.
What committees may do
Within their powers, committees may summon ministers and authorities subject to parliamentary oversight, require documents, examine contracts, hold hearings and conduct inquiries. Protected secrecy requires a proportionate solution — a closed session, compartmentalised access or redaction — not an absolute refusal.
Permanent committees have not yet been named
There is no authoritative source today that permits stating what all permanent committees will be, their names, number, chairs or detailed powers. The portal publishes the constitutional architecture and awaits actual rules of procedure or legislation.
A parliamentary inquiry is a special committee, not a synonym for an ordinary committee
A parliamentary inquiry has its own constitutional trigger of one quarter of the seats and a defined subject of relevant public interest. See the dedicated page for the limits of inquiry powers.
